Integral Leadership Development in Peru!

We at Integral Without Borders are excited to get involved with our partner organizations in their community resilience and integral leadership development in Peru and Bolivia. We hope to send an IWB team to Peru this coming year to guide, advance, and deepen the leadership work, bringing our many decades of collective experience to bear on the project.

IWB has rarely asked explicitly for donations, even though we provide many services to the community of members such as an extensive archive of resources, a network, ongoing monthly community calls, and the organizing of global events, much of which has been and continues to be pro bono. A true service. Now, we are hoping to draw upon the community to help raise sufficient funds to get IWB more fully involved in this project. For more on the project, see More Details below.

Please support our involvement with a donation. Thank you!

Note that for those donors giving $1000 or more, we will invite you onto the upcoming advisory calls (and send you previous audio recordings of past calls), which are usually attended by many of the senior members of the integral community, including Ken Wilber, to discuss the nuances of this approach, its process and results. Participating in these discussions such a project can be a powerful way to upgrade your own approach to development using the integral model.

More Details...

"This is a very illumined yet very uncommon arrangement," I thought as I began, said Gail Hochachka one of the four directors of IWB who's consulting on this project. Imagine the possibilities--and also the unusual nature--of a massive retailer in North America, one of its largest buyers, and an NGO working together to foster sustainability and community resilience using the Integral Approach. Truly unusual in most corners of this planet.

This is an integral leadership program for the brazil nut value chain in Peru and Bolivia. The program intends to lay emergent ground for transformation not only in the individuals involved in brazil nuts but also in the value chain itself. Trusting the human potential and it's inherent impulse to expand, as well as trusting the deep intelligence of the value chain to seek a deeper curve of manifestation.

We are reframing the value chain as a holarchy not a linear chain, laying emergent conditions for development towards worldcentrism, stretching goals and situating the value chain in it's biggest picture possible, connecting the protection of the nut supply for retail with a true community resilience, and considering all quadrants in training for diverse leadership qualities. We will be documenting the progress as things unfold.

Though this work involves only one value chain so far, the ultimate goal is to develop an integral leadership model for any value chain, be it brazil nuts, cashews, chocolate or cotton, such that economic efficiencies, community wellbeing, and sustainability are increased. We have good reason to believe that such a model has an opportunity to go to scale, that is, if the design and delivery of this first integral leadership program actually 'works.' And if we could take this to scale, it would mean thousands of communities in multiple nations producing and selling myriad products could become more resilient and sustainable. Perhaps involving more buyers and other large retailers. Doing our bit to strike a new tone in the harmony of human discourse. So much so that perhaps one day the truths of equity, social justice and environmental sustainability are simply part and parcel of the price of goods you buy every day; that these truths have, truly, become self-evident.

Though, today, it's simply about a rock-solid design and a steller delivery. Which we see is worth our investment now to do well. As well as we possibly can.

Your donation goes towards this investment by supporting the involvement of some of the wisest IWB members, with the longest-standing experience in the field, sheer gold mines of insight to bring to bear on this project. We appreciate every penny you donate towards their involvement on this project. Precisely, the donations go towards the flights and consulting fees for one trip to Peru and follow-up work afterward.
